Finding Ourselves on the Road

The focus of this road trip isn’t just the destinations—it’s about rediscovering ourselves along the way.

So far, we’ve stopped in Delaware—beautiful, full of history—but not quite what we were searching for. Now we’re in West Virginia, tucked away in a small RV overlooking a quiet stream. Here, surrounded by nature, we’re starting to feel more in tune… even if the journey hasn’t been without its challenges.

Being on the move brings its own kind of anxiety. Constant change tests patience, communication, and trust. But it’s also showing us how important it is to slow down and reconnect—with nature, with each other, and with ourselves.

Our mornings look different now. Gone are the rushes of leaving the house, battling traffic, and coming home late to juggle dinner, homework (I’m currently finishing my master’s), and caring for Gigi. Out here, we have discovered how much time we actually have when we aren’t pulled in a million directions.

One of my favorite moments so far was waking up to the aroma of Onda Dark by SABO Coffee Roasters—a luxurious blend with hints of dark chocolate, molasses, and toasted almonds that our hosts had left for us. That initial sip, with the stream gently humming in the background, gave me the sense of peace I hadn’t realized I needed.

We’ve had time to start painting, reading, and sitting quietly outside—just being. It feels like a reset—a reminder that sometimes the best parts of life aren’t in a plan, but in the pauses between.

This journey is about more than finding new places; it’s about finding peace within ourselves. And if you’re reading this feeling a bit lost or restless, maybe this is your sign to pause, breathe, and let the world slow down with you. You might be surprised by what you find waiting in the quiet.
